Almost all forms of orchids are carried into the Red Book. Plant is undertaken under the protection for the different reasons. Archaelogical excavations attest to the fact that in the territory of Latvia fruits of [rogulnika] of that floating were used into the food from the Bronze Age. At present these forms can be revealed in central and South Europe.
In Latvia the plant is extended beyond the limits of very northern boundary. At present floating can be discovered in three lakes - and in The region and in(Pokrate lake in region. All these lakes are found under the protection of state as forbidden natural zones.
